“Once upon a Munch Time, There Was A Cow Called Munch……”
You may remember I blogged about the Munch Time story telling competition back in March when it first opened well The competition is nearing the end (4th June) and I dont want any of you guys to miss out on such a brilliant opportunity!
Budding children’s authors have just one week left to enter the annual Munch Time story writing competition. Run by Munch Bunch yoghurts, the competition is open to all adults with a passion for story telling; and it would appear there are many out there. A recent survey by Munch Bunch revealed 62% of parents enjoy making up stories for their little ones. If you’re one, then just write a short story (600-800 words) that would appeal to young children – and features Munch the Cow, the opening line should be “Once upon a munch time, there was a cow called Munch”. Let your imagination run wild and be as creative as you can just make sure that the story is suitable for children aged between two and five years old. This competition is the perfect platform for creative parents who want an outlet for their talents, this is the fourth year of the competition which has already received hundreds of entries.
Child psychologist Dr Richard Woolfson, who has been involved with ‘Munch Time’ for the last three years says: “2012 is a special year, with some once in a lifetime events taking place – why not use the Jubilee or Olympics as your creative inspiration and to introduce and explain to young children these exciting events?”
First Prize: £1000 cash prize and your winning story to be published onto the Munch Time website and official Facebook page and made into a downloadable book.
Runners up: £500 cash prize and your story to be published on to the Munch Time website and official Facebook page
