DIY Easter Eggs

I decided this year to make my own Easter Eggs for the boys.

While out shopping, i noticed the poundshop were selling Egg moulds, small ones and large ones. I thought it would be an excellant idea for us all to do together. I bought the moulds and some chocolate and couldnt wait to try it out.

You will need:

Plastic Egg moulds

Chocolate, any will do. I used the cheap asda own bars.

Sauce pan and a glass bowl

1. First i melted the chocolate in the glass bowl over some hot water in a pan on the oven.

2. Once melted i poured it evenly into the mould, carefully making sure that all of it was covered but don’t fill the mould completely. When your happy with it place it into the fridge to harden up. You need to repeat this twice so you have two halves.

3. When hardened take out of the fridge, melt some more chocloate to stick the two halves together. At this point you could place a little gift inside.

Wrap it up in foil and store in the fridge.

We have done a variety of different eggs for the boys, the eldest boy has a popping candy egg, for my four year old he has a plain chocolate egg with little haribo sweets stuck around the egg and for the baby well he has a milky bar egg, which I think I will be sharing with him lol. We made Daddy a nutty Easter egg made with almonds yum yum.

All we have to do now is wait for next weekend to eat them all.

  1. Wow! I’m going to try and track down some moulds in the UK next week. This is a great idea.
